40th HS sharpens search and rescue skills in Highwood Mountains

Staff Sgt. Chase Rose, 40th Helicopter Squadron flight engineer, opens the door of a UH-N1 Huey during a search and rescue exercise May 24, 2022, over the Highwood Mountains near Great Falls, Mont. The exercise was conducted to test the squadron’s ability to locate and rescue an injured hiker. The 40th HS is often called upon to perform SAR missions on missing or injured people.
