Chief Master Sergeant CHARLES C. ORF

Chief Master Sergeant Charles Orf is the Command Chief Master Sergeant for Twentieth Air Force (20 AF), Francis E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo. Twentieth Air Force is responsible for the nation’s Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile force, organized into three combat missile wings and one air base wing, with more than 11,000 assigned Airmen. The mission of 20 AF is to prepare the Nation’s ICBM force to execute safe, secure and effective nuclear strike operations and serve as the portal for all Priority Level 1 assets entering and leaving U.S. Air Force custody, all in support of worldwide combatant commander requirements. Chief Orf is the commander’s primary advisor on the mission effectiveness, professional development, mission readiness, training, utilization, health, morale and welfare of over 7,300 enlisted personnel.

Chief Orf enlisted in the Air Force on 12 January 1994, and upon graduation as an Honor Graduate from Basic Military Training, he remained at Lackland Air Force Base (AFB), Texas, for Law Enforcement Specialist technical training. His first duty assignment was with the 650th Security Police Squadron, Edwards AFB, Calif. He has held duty positions throughout the spectrum of the Security Forces career field, as well as positions at the wing and major command levels. His tours of duty include Edwards AFB, Calif.; Araxos Air Base (AB), Greece; Ramstein AB, Germany; Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz.; Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii; Travis AFB, Calif.; Kunsan AB, Republic of Korea, and Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, before being assigned to 20 AF. His contingency deployments have taken him to Cuba, Italy, Spain, Diego Garcia and Iraq in support of Operations SEA SIGNAL, JOINT GUARD, DESERT THUNDER, ENDURING FREEDOM, and IRAQI FREEDOM.
