The 2012 Minot Air Force Base Combined Federal Campaign began Sept. 6 and is scheduled to run until Oct. 11. This year, Team Minot's campaign goal is $155,000.

Established in 1961, the CFC is the world's largest and most successful workplace charity campaign, with more than 200 CFC campaigns throughout the country and internationally. The program provides a great opportunity to truly highlight the generous caring.

The annual fundraising opportunity allows millions of federal employees and service members to contribute to thousands of eligible local and national non-profit organizations, said Capt. Pamela Banks, CFC installation project officer.

Since its inception in 1961, the federal community has donated more than $6 billion to the CFC. Contributions can be made through squadron or group representatives in cash, check or by payroll deduction. Donors may designate which charity, or charities, receive their money by filling out a pledge form.

In these difficult economic times and a year surrounded by natural disasters, we can give aid and hope to those struggling individuals and families. Each member of the Minot AFB family can make a difference.
