The 5th Civil Engineer Squadron Entomology Shop

MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- Chief Master Sgt. Kevin Jurgella, Vicki Johnson, Senior Airman Nathaniel Boober, Senior Master Sgt. Daniel S. Clark. The 5th Civil Engineer Squadron Entomology Shop protects the health and morale of base personnel through a comprehensive mosquito control program, treating all breeding sources on base. They provide adult ground mosquito control through the coordination of aerial sprays and control ground squirrels (Dakrats), mice, rats, skunks, badgers, bedbugs, ticks, and the like. They also support the 5th Bomb Wing flying mission by eliminating flight line weeds and controlling insects that attract birds, as well as ensure compliance with environmental regulations through proper use of pesticides and by controlling noxious weeds on base. Outside of the 5th BW, they provide weed control for 165 Missile Wing sites while providing general pest control for all alert facilities.(Photo Submission/Staff Sgt. Carmen Washington)
