20th AF turns 70
In the underground launch control center at Minot Air Force Base's Missile Alert Facility B-1, one of 15 such MAFs scattered across northwest North Dakota, 1st Lt. John Manibusan and 2nd Lt. Trey Marshall form the missile combat crew on duty Aug. 18, 2006. Though the ICBM mission is vastly different from the 20th Air Force’s original heavy bombardment mission, missileers like Manibusan and Marshall have a worldwide impact when they contribute to nuclear deterrence.
